What Does It Mean When a Disposable Vape Blinks?

What does it mean when a disposable vape blinks? Is a common question we get asked in our vape shop.

As you have probably guessed, when a disposable vape blinks it’s not a good, but what does it mean. Well, this depends on the vape brand, but it’s negative no matter which one you have.

It could be a manufacturing defect that has prevented your disposable vape from working, or it could be something you have done that has made your vape shut down and your light start to blink.

The most common reasons for why a disposable vape blinks is either the battery dying or the vape pen has run out of vape juice.

Disposable vape batteries are designed to last the amount of eJuice your tank holds. They’re not designed to be recharged, but it should last for as long as you still have e-Liquid.

Most disposable vapes have an indicator light that indicates you’re using your device. It will either turn red or flash depending on the performance of your battery, but if the battery does go completely, your disposable won’t respond when you inhale.

If you still have juice in, but your battery is dead then it’s either faulty or you may have damaged your disposable vape. That said, it’s probably going to flash red if it’s not working at all.

Why Would My Battery Have Died Before My eJuice Runs Out?

As you know, a disposable vape battery is designed to be used for as much vape juice is in it. So, if you get something like an Elf Bar 600, the battery is designed to last for the 2ml of juice, or on average 600 puffs.

Of course, the batteries are designed to outlast the juice so you will likely have a little bit of battery life left. But this can be affected by how you vape.

For example, if you take deep inhalations, you’ll get less than the average 600 puffs. But not only that. While you’re inhaling, your light will remain on for longer than the average vaper, and your coil will remain triggered for longer, so this could technically harm the battery.

To combat this, you could try taking shorter inhales, and put less stress on your battery, and even let the battery rest a bit more between vapes.

What To Do if Disposable Vape Light is Blinking

If your disposable vape is blinking, but you still have some battery life, it’s a good idea to let it rest for a few hours. This could help the battery, and ensure you get the right amount of life out of yours to finish your vape juice.

You could be vaping too much. When you take a hit, your disposable vape pen’s coil heats and vaporizes the e-Liquid. If you do this too regular and with long inhalations it might not give your wick enough time to soak up more e-liquid and ultimately dry out your wick.

If this happens, put your vape pen down and let the wick rehydrate. Once it rests, it will start to hydrate and should allow you to start vaping again.

Another reason your disposable vape could be blinking is that your e-Liquid in the tank has some air bubbles that are interfering with the performance of your disposable vape kit. You can check in the transparent window to see you e-Liquid, and if you see any bubbles, give it a light shake to get rid of the bubbles. Once they’re gone, it should be ok to start vaping again.

If it’s none of these, your vape pen has probably short circuited. For your safety, vape manufacturers put circuit protectors into vape kits to ensure your disposable doesn’t short. If this is the case, you should dispose of your faulty device and get a new one.
